About Rachel
My work is guided by the belief that effective support begins with understanding rather than assumptions. Over the years, my clinical experience, international work, and conversations with families, educators, and autistic self-advocates have shaped my approach to behavioral consulting, grounding it in curiosity, collaboration, and respect for each person's individuality.

Before shifting into international development, I worked as a Clinical Director and Program Supervisor in California, overseeing in-home and school-based behavior programs and collaborating with families and school teams to design and implement individualized plans.
As the Director of International Partnerships at Global Autism Project, I train and coach educators and therapists across more than a dozen countries, develop BACB-, IBAO-, and QABA-accredited training curricula, and facilitate leadership growth for multidisciplinary teams. This work has deepened my understanding of how culture, resources, and local values inform the way services are delivered.
I also host and produce Autism Knows No Borders, a podcast featuring autistic self-advocates, family members, and professionals from around the world. These discussions explore global perspectives on autism, inclusion, and neurodiversity across different cultures. Listening closely to autistic voices has reinforced that the goal isn't to make a child behave more typically, but to help them thrive as exactly who they are. Conversations with parents have also reminded me that effective support must extend beyond clinical goals to what genuinely makes a difference in the daily lives of children and their families.
Cultural humility and responsiveness are central to my work. Having lived and taught in Japan, France, and now Spain, I've learned to question my assumptions, recognize how my own background shapes my professional perspective, and remain open to learning from others. I bring that mindset to my consulting practice by valuing the expertise of parents and educators and developing evidence-based strategies that reflect each individual's needs, cultural context, and the priorities of the people who guide them.
I’m dedicated to building trusting partnerships with families and school teams, learning alongside them to create meaningful support that helps each child move through the world comfortably as themselves.
